James started playing rugby aged 12 when he joined his local team (Petersfield RFC) in Hampshire. He played with them through the age grades before he left for university in 2009 when he started medical school in Norwich. It was here he got his first taste of Norfolk rugby when he joined the Norwich Medics. Following his graduation he remained in Norfolk for his Foundation years before going on to do GP training. He is now a GP partner based in Caister and Great Yarmouth.

James has always had an interest in sports medicine and being a rugby team doctor. When he heard about the medical set up at Holt he was keen to get involved especially as it is the best in the county. He is about to start his second season with the club and is looking forward to what this year will bring, both on and off the pitch.

“James intends to complete his PHICIS level 3 (this is the same trauma course the international and premiership teams complete) this coming season to further add to his experience and to help support the club’s injury problems better.
