Thank you to all involved in getting Holt RFC into latest edition of the Rugby World Magazine.
"This was Holt's most successful season for 20 years, with all three senior sides reaching Norfolk Cup finals and the first team winning 17 of their 18 games. Flanker Harrison impressed with his leadership, having taken over this year from his brother Henry, who had retired through injury. Wing Grant McConnell scored 208 points, including 30 touchdowns, while centres Tom Jackson (17) and Ali Hughes (14) were also among the tries. D'Amery said "The whole rugby experience here is about enjoyment and ensuring players have the best possible experience".
COMING SOON - Watch this space for a massive article on Holt RFC to be read in the next "Rugby Club Magazine" edition to be published mid June. It has a readership of 250K nationwide and an online presence, plus 10K digital copies are sent to homes & businesses locally. It is committed to providing its readers with coverage of all levels of rugby, ranging from major international tournaments right the way through to the grass roots of the game across all four of the home nations.
Martin Morgan Martin approached us, believing we have a 'story to tell' and as such we are one of 6 clubs he approached. The heart of the magazine is grassroots rugby - how clubs such as ours change peoples' lives. Interestingly I discovered within our chat that he knew nothing of our mural and any links with Ben Youngs or Freddie Steward - choosing to write about Holt RFC came about from our rugby performance this season & our positive position in the community. He has called it a tribute piece and the intent was for it to be a 3/4 page article.
So - we very excitedly await their next issue which has a Holt RFC player taking the front-cover page, photo courtesy of Simon Watson, and inside Holt RFC taking centre-stage with an astonishing 29-page article, highlighting the work that many of our key volunteers are carrying out - focusing on community, youth development, sound management and of course all levels of our rugby success. The crucial role that everyone plays at Holt RFC cannot be overstated and you'll be able to read many stories of commitment, hard work, enthusiasm and enjoyment.
