Ever wondered what it is about Holt RFC that draws players in?
What makes Holt such a special place to play rugby?
What is it like for new players coming into the fold..?
For the 1st XV - Level 6, for the 2nd XV - Level 9, and for the 3rd XV - Level 10, we asked some of our newest recruits from over the last couple of seasons why they decided to come to Holt and their thoughts ......
"When I moved to the area I went to a few different senior clubs for taster sessions to see what the environment and rugby was like. As soon as I turned up at Holt, I knew it was the welcoming family club I had heard about.
They went out of their way to introduce me to everyone, from players to coaches. This made me feel comfortable straight away. The players, coaches and staff are really welcoming and create an enjoyable atmosphere around training, matches and outside.
Holt play with real freedom and promote running rugby which is enjoyable and very rare in current rugby, and I love it. Often results come before enjoyment, but not at Holt, it's always about enjoyment first!
I would recommend Holt RFC to any player new to the area regardless of ability or experience - you will be made very welcome." GMC
"When moving from Kent to Holt, I was a little nervous in the first session about fitting in to a well-established club, but I was welcomed and made to feel at home straight away on/off the field. Their ambition and fun is something I want to be a part of for years to come." SDW
"I joined Holt after attending 1 training session. The togetherness of the club, the players and the well run structure really drew me to leave the club that I was previously captain of." BB
"As soon as I turned up at Holt, everyone was brilliant - coaches, players and club persons alike! I felt welcome on and off the pitch and wouldn't want to be anywhere other than the Owl Sanctuary now!" CC
"It is widely known across most of East Anglia that Holt is a great club. This means great facilities, numerous teams and a good social scene. However, more than this is that the people are GREAT! They are welcoming, accommodating and keen to play rugby against and with anyone and anytime. I was very nervous going to a new rugby club but within minutes felt at home and this is why I chose Holt - the people make it what it is and after just 1 training session I felt I had found my home." JG
Pre-season training starts on Tuesday 18th July. The coaching team invite anyone interested to come along and give Holt RFC a try. We can't wait to see everyone back at the club ready to build towards the season ahead.
